Personal reflection: staying home when sick fits under illustrative behavior 3.2 under the title Conduct of the NAD–RID Code of Professional Conduct: “Decline assignments or withdraw from the interpreting profession when not competent due to physical, mental, or emotional factors.” Just thought I’d mention that as I’m studying the CPC in preparation for the NIC.

Basically, I’m allergic to pollen, dust, mold, and cat dander. In Phoenix, we have what is called a “monsoon” season, during which wind blows across the valley and it rains. After the rains, all the weeds spring up. This wreaks havoc with my allergies. I don’t think it’s ragweed in particular, for me. I think it’s just all the flowering weeds and plants all together.

I tend to get ragweed during the autumn season until the first frost of the season hits. It can be so brutal.
