This logo incorporates the letter I for interpretation, T for translation (or transliteration), and the Roman number II for two languages and two modes (bilingual and bimodal; i.e., aural/oral and visual/gestural). The opposing T’s represent the turning act of interpretation and translation (or transliteration). In addition, the symbol, if viewed sideways, looks like the “frame” visual artists create with the thumbs and forefingers of their two hands to compose their view. Taken altogether, my logo represents the composition of my view of the transformative acts of interpretation & translation (or transliteration).
I designed this logo for the blog name I created, called TerpTrans, which itself is an abbreviation of interpretation & translation (or transliteration).
