I love to join Andy for lunch during the work week once in a while. Today, we had a lunch date at Sun Asian Kitchen in South Mountain. The food was delicious, the ambience lovely, and the prices very reasonable ($4.95 for lunch specials).

Gay Cowboy Wedding at Mormon Lake Lodge
Last weekend, Andy and I photographed and videotaped a wedding of two friends of ours, a male couple who had a country-western “cowboy”-themed wedding at Mormon Lake Lodge in Mormon Lake, Arizona (about a half-hour outside of Flagstaff).
I will post more photos later, depending on the willingness of our friends, but for now, here’s a photo I took while I was outside the cabin taking photos of the beautiful trees and flowers.

Happy Labor Day!
Today, I partook of an American custom– the Labor Day Pool Party. This year, my partner and I bracketed our summer with a Memorial Day pool party and a Labor Day pool party at the same house. It was fun. Hope you had fun too!

Arizona Flickr Gang
Andy and I went to Aunt Chilada’s last night for a “meetup” of Flickrites (users of the Flickr photo sharing web service). It was good fun. We met some nice people, and I took some good pictures. I talked with one guy, Garry, about SLR’s and lenses, so I learned some technical stuff too (though I don’t remember all of it). I’m glad I went.

Voiceover Workshop with Nick Omana
Today, I took a voiceover workshop with Nick Omana. I got a lot of time at the mic because it was a small class. Nick taught us about vocal “colors”– an interesting approach to character work using color symbolism as a frame of reference. We practiced approaching the same copy with various attitudes which was a fun way of exploring character and emotion in reads.
