A new video for the teaching of ethics & professional practice

My classmates and I in Western Oregon University’s Master of Arts in Interpreting Studies & Teaching created a scenario for the teaching of ethics and professional practice. In this scenario, an interpreter arrives at a job site unprepared to find her assignment location on such a big industrial campus. We encourage interpreter trainers, interpreting students, and professional interpreters to use this video in their study of ethics and professional practice. The video contains questions for discussion and leads the viewer in analyzing the scenario using the NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct and the Demand Control Schema (Dean & Pollard, 2001). Please cite Greene, D., Rainey, S., & Trine, E. (Producers). (2012, June 3). Professional Practice Films presents A Job Too Big. [Video file]. I facilitate communication between Deaf and hearing people, and I teach people American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting. Apart from doing the work I love, my greatest joys are family & friends, entertainment, food, photography, and travel.
